Hot-water bottlesHot-water bottles are used for local heating of tissues and general warming of the patient. The blood flow to the area of the body where the hot-water bottle is placed increases, which causes an analgesic and resorbing effect. The resorption effect depends not so much on the temperature of the hot-water bottle as on the duration of the procedure.
The hot-water bottle is used as a first aid for hypothermia. A hot water bottle, acting with dry heat, can help with chronic inflammatory processes, the consequences of injuries.
Depending on the purpose, hot-water bottles are made of two types:
A - for local body warming;
B - combined, used for local warming of the body, as well as for washing and douching.
